No New Posts the lake

The Hogwarts Lake is a large body of water located to the south of the castle. It is about half a mile in diameter and the Hogwarts plumbing network drains into it. It is home to a giant squid and a colony of Merpeople. The lake was also used as the site of the Second Task of the Triwizard Tournament. The Slytherin common room is beneath the lake, accessed through an entrance in the school dungeons. The Chamber of Secrets is also thought to be beneath the lake.

The station is located near the Hogwarts Lake, and from there a road extends around the lake to Hogwarts Castle. It is actually quite a distance from the village itself, being on the opposite side of the Hogwarts grounds. The Hogwarts Express stops here after travelling from King's Cross Station.

No New Posts viaduct

The Viaduct is a part of Hogwarts Castle. It is constructed of stone, and extends all the way down to the lake. A courtyard outside the Entrance Hall contains an archway that leads to the Paved Courtyard and across to the viaduct. At the other end, there are double doors which lead into the Viaduct Entrance. There were two talking gargoyles at one end of the Viaduct, but unfortunately one was smashed during the 1994 Triwizard Tournament.

There are four entrances to this building: The path outside the Paved Courtyard, the stairs going down from the Entrance Courtyard, the hidden passageway behind the potrait of Pratt, and the Lake.

No New Posts the quidditch pitch

Hogwarts has its own pitch where Quidditch teams could practise, hold try-outs and play matches against each other. Each year will see a total of six inter-house matches (each house competing for the Quidditch Cup), along with numerous training sessions by each house team. The stands surrounding the pitch would be decorated differently for each Quidditch match at Hogwarts. Every second stand would be decorated with the colours of one House team, and every other stand with the colours of the opposing team. Spectators would sit in between these stands.
